I am so excited to tell you about one of the most awesome experiences ever! I flew all by myself (see how great it was already?) from Mexico City to Phoenix to spend a weekend in Scottsdale for a Me Ra Koh Confidence workshop. I knew it would be cool, I knew I would learn a lot, but I had no idea that it would be absolutely super duper fabulous!! I met over twenty amazing women that all came ready to learn and open to absorb all of the wisdom that we received from each other and especially from Me Ra, Brian and their business partner Jeff. I know that I could have stayed for weeks and loved every minute of it. I felt so full and, yes, confident, when I left and I felt like I really understood the purpose of it all. The connection with the wonderful women at the conference was inspiring and I totally get what makes this ‘photography thing’ fulfilling and healing and uplifting. I wanted to talk to everybody I met when I left! I wanted to know all about the driver of the airport shuttle (she was very good at making the early morning commute fun) and the lady in line next to me at security (she had just been to visit her grandkids) and, honestly, I really wanted to know their stories. I bet they had some great experiences to share if only we had more time. And although those moments had nothing to do with the camera itself, but it was the beginning of the process, and the most important part. I felt so open and that was the absolutely super duper fabulous part.
On the technical side (cause I’m sure there was some of that going on
) I am shooting in manual from now until forever! And, more importantly, I know why I’m shooting in manual! Just amazing, I tell you. We got to practice with some families and I’ll tell you, the first day I was a little frustrated. Very excited, but frustrated. However, just as Me Ra promised, the second day was all light bulbs and fireworks! I’ll post a few of the pics below.
So, all told, my life has been changed! Thank you to all of the wonderful women I met, to Me Ra and Brian, and Jeff too – his wisdom should be sold by the ounce. I hope that I may get the chance to meet you all again. My love to you all…
Here I am with Me Ra at the end of the workshop. I’m a little teary, I was just so sad to leave!

Here are some pics from day one. This little peanut was a walker and she had places to go!
And here’s day two. My favorite five-year old of the weekend was refusing to have his picture taken, but I think we got a few that his mom will like. His little sister was more willing thanks to the snacks on hand!
