]]> http://jarrodandjana.com/newsite/?feed=rss2&p=714 0 August Update http://jarrodandjana.com/newsite/?p=703 http://jarrodandjana.com/newsite/?p=703#comments Sun, 22 Aug 2010 03:47:41 +0000 Jarrod http://jarrodandjana.com/newsite/?p=703 We have moved to Mexico!  I was down here starting July 9th.  Then, after my FM3 was completed I went back to the states.  It was August 4th when I flew back.  Between the 4th and 8th our house was packed and we completed everything necessary to leave the country.  We flew down on the 8th.  We are in our temporary apartment  (the one we picked out from our look-see visit and that I was in for a month alone) as we wait for the company to work through some lease agreements with the owners of a few houses we want.  Treyton started school on August 16th and is doing a great job.  He is taking the bus every day too.  Jana has made some friends here as the ex-pat community is pretty well connected.  Baedon and Greyson are loving it too.  It rains all the time since it´s the rainy season but that´s ok…we do like the rain.  I work A LOT, but that´s part of the deal.  It´s a great adventure and we´re loving every minute of it.  We have our live-in maid and our driver and they are both working out nicely.  There is so much to see and do here so we´re pretty excited.  Now, it will be hard to keep up on two blogs so we are posting all of our Mexico Adventure content on our new blog that is dedicated to the move and our time in Mexico.  So, check it out by clicking on the banner below….

]]> http://jarrodandjana.com/newsite/?feed=rss2&p=703 0 July Update http://jarrodandjana.com/newsite/?p=700 http://jarrodandjana.com/newsite/?p=700#comments Sat, 24 Jul 2010 20:04:41 +0000 Jarrod http://jarrodandjana.com/newsite/?p=700 Once we got back from Lake Havasu we headed to Grandma D’s for her birthday.  This was our last hurrah in the states before I shipped out.  We got home on 7/6 and I left for Mexico on the 9th.  I’ve been in Mexico 15 days now and will be here until at least 8/4 when I am planning to head back to the states for a few days to orchestrate the move and fly back down with Jana and the boys.  I’ve been working down here and trying to learn the lay of the land whilst Jana is at home busy with the boys and preparing everything for the move.  We are planning on renting and hope to have tenants by September.  Most of our updates, if not all of them, will be on our Mexico Blog.  Hope to post some pictures of our 4th of July weekend with Grandma and Grammie and Grandad.  Again, for updates, check the Project Mariposa blog.

]]> http://jarrodandjana.com/newsite/?feed=rss2&p=700 0 Havasu 2010 http://jarrodandjana.com/newsite/?p=590 http://jarrodandjana.com/newsite/?p=590#comments Sun, 04 Jul 2010 17:21:00 +0000 Jarrod http://jarrodandjana.com/newsite/?p=590 We were able to squeeze in a trip to Havasu before leaving for Mexico this year.  It was just our family and Grammie this time.  We were there from June 23rd to the 29th.  It was a great trip.  Perfect weather and great fishing and the campground was not crowded at all.  We were able to get a different beach every day we were out on the lake and there was no traffic at the boat ramp.  We missed everyone this year but still had a great time.  Was nice to get the boat and trailer out one more time before they are relegated to storage for the next year (At least).  Here is a slideshow of our adventure this year.  We do have more pics from Grammie’s camera but those will come later.

]]> http://jarrodandjana.com/newsite/?feed=rss2&p=590 0 Update http://jarrodandjana.com/newsite/?p=584 http://jarrodandjana.com/newsite/?p=584#comments Mon, 21 Jun 2010 04:54:45 +0000 Jarrod http://jarrodandjana.com/newsite/?p=584 We’ve been pretty busy.  I fly out on 7/6 to head to Mexico and will be down there without the family for at least a month.  Jana may come down with Trey to complete school testing and such but other than that, I’m on my own.  Once the 5 weeks is up (my visa application is all ready to be processed), I’ll fly back to the states and be here for the packing of our house.  Then the wife and kids and I will head down to Mexico City and start our new lives.  We will be in temporary housing (very nice apartment) until such time that our house is ready.  Then, we move in and start unpacking.

In the meantime, we’re staying busy here in the states.  We’ve done to the lake a couple of times and baedon had his 4th b-day on 6/18 with a party on the 19th.  More on that in another post.  We are busy packing and preparing for the big move.  I have recently been working with a hat shop in Annapolis (Hats in the Belfry) as a photographer for their hats.  The relationship is really taking off and I have since sent them a portfolio of shots.  Here’s an example of the latest shots:  http://jarrodandjana.com/photoblog/?p=664  One of my absolute favorites is this one of Jana:

]]> http://jarrodandjana.com/newsite/?feed=rss2&p=557 0 Treyton’s Kindergarten Graduation http://jarrodandjana.com/newsite/?p=551 http://jarrodandjana.com/newsite/?p=551#comments Fri, 21 May 2010 03:04:28 +0000 Jarrod http://jarrodandjana.com/newsite/?p=551 It seems like it was just yesterday when we were getting Treyton all ready for his first day of Kindergarten.  And here we are, 10 months later, seeing him move on to the 1st grade.  It’s crazy how time flies.  We are amazed at how much he’s learned and how he has developed.  Both academically and as a person.  He continues to be very analytical and is drawn to anything with Legos(R) and Egypt.  He loves history and doesn’t miss a chance to watch Grossology or Growing Up Creepie.  Our little boy is growing up so fast!  He will start 1st grade in August in his new school in Mexico City.  2010 will be an interesting year!   Here is the video of his graduation – photos coming later.  Yes, it’s only a Kindergarten graduation, but with all the adversity and challenges kids face today, it’s important to celebrate the little things…
